I run this battery in my 03 1500HD Silverado. I attached the blue spacer that comes with the battery to the clamp side of the battery and tighten it down. No issues. I just replaced (2022) the last Optima Red I bought for it. I had purchased that battery and installed it in 2017. I got 5 years out of that 3 year battery. Pretty good. My truck is lifted and quite bouncy and the Optima has no issues with the vibrations. I also like the dual terminal locations. Due to work, my truck may sit for a week or two and I put a smart charger on the top unused terminals to keep it topped off. Very convenient.Only had them for a short time . They work greatOut performing other batteriesI bought my battery March 29,2010 from Amazon. When it arrived, it tested 100% charged on arrival by my new battery charger/tester with an AGM type setting. All was fine until almost a month ago. We had the car detailed Nov 11th 2010, and the detailer said he left the car doors open for about three hours while he worked on the car. After that, it almost didn't start. I put it on my charger and it wasn't able to get it to a 100% charge. It finally quit trying and said the battery was bad. As long as I put the charger on it at night, it would operate just fine the whole day. I called Optima and was told to take it to a local Interstate battery distributor to have it checked. After a few weeks I finally was able to get to Interstate. They found a dead cell. I was lucky as they also sold the Optima battery, and replaced it on the spot. I was stunned as I was in and out within 20 minutes. I hope the new battery lasts longer than the first one. The new one checks out 100%.UPDATE December 9, 2012It has been over two years since I got the replacement battery. It still has as much power as when new, and we have had 0 problems with it.UPDATE December 1, 2013Battery failed November 29, 2013. It lasted exactly 8 months after the warranty expired. I would have bought another one except for the way it died. It went from being great as usual to totally dead. My wife drove to her destination, 15 minutes later she tried to start the car and nothing, not even enough power to run the dome light. I jump started it, she drove home, but it died during a slow turn. I jumped it again and I drove it home. As I got into the garage it died again. There wasn't enough power for the doors to unlock when you go to park. We couldn't open the driver's door, but did get the passenger's side open. Because the interior is so small, I had a hard time getting out. Usual most batteries fail with enough juice so I wouldn't have been in this situation. So I bought a Everstart MAXX.This is my 2nd battery the 1st lasted 9 yearsDied withing 6 months, installed on a Factory Five Roadster with a battery disconnect, driven maybe 5X in that time, battery tender on a timer was installed. Left it about a week without a tender - dead flat. I charged it up, and it would not ever take less than 2A charging. Battery voltage after 3 days of charging was 11v, figured I had an internal fault and reached out to Optima for help. They entirely blew me off, said "sounds like sulfation, sulfation is normal, warranty is up to the retailer". So, a "high end" $270 "spiral wound" battery crapped the bed in under 9 months and the manufacturer says "happens, not my problem". Luckily Amazon understands customer service and sent a replacement. Five star Amazon experience, zero stars for Optima. So, I've been buying car batteries for maybe 40 years, and across my fleet I probably buy 2 or 3 a year. This was the first and last Optima I will ever buy - Not only will I boycott the brand but I will badmouth their horrible support to every racer, gearhead, weekend warrior, car enthusiast and offroader I come across until the end of my days. Garbage product (maybe I got a dud to be fair) with Garbage support. I may Fedex the defective product I got to their CEO with a copy of this review as a wakeup call to fire their support policy makers. I've never had even a cheapie battery die this quick, and even the Chinese knockoff battery vendors stand up to their warranties!I would have honestly been OK with just getting a discount on a replacement because stuff happens and we are headed to a recession - but they just told me to pound sand. Optima is dead to me now. That's right. I put these in my 2004 Duramax diesel 9 years ago. Never failed me, I had forgotten about them and happen to look down at the date sticker, couldn't believe it and researched order and yep.....9 years. They did go up $100 per battery since then. Had to do it and ordered 2 more and installed today. Hopefully they are as good as before.fits my 2011 subaru outback perfectGreat price shipped quick to my door.
